Gain
— The ratio of output power to input power in an amplifier or antenna, typically expressed in dB. In antennas, gain includes the effect of directivity and efficiency.
Gain Flatness
— The variation in gain across a specified frequency band, typically expressed as peak-to-peak variation in dB.
GaAs (Gallium Arsenide)
— A III-V compound semiconductor material used in high-frequency transistors, MMICs, and optoelectronics due to its high electron mobility.
GaN (Gallium Nitride)
— A wide-bandgap semiconductor material used in high-power, high-frequency amplifiers and switches due to its high breakdown voltage and power density.
Group Delay
— The rate of change of transmission phase with respect to frequency, representing the time delay experienced by the envelope of a signal.
Guard Band
— An unused frequency band between two adjacent communication channels that prevents mutual interference.
Gunn Diode
— A transferred-electron device that generates microwave oscillations when biased above a threshold voltage, used as a compact microwave source.
