Overview

Your Requirements. Our Engineering.

Not every antenna application fits a standard product. When your system demands a specific feed configuration, integrated waveguide network, custom mounting geometry, or environmental protection that goes beyond off-the-shelf options, our custom assembly program delivers exactly what you need.

RF Essentials engineers work directly with your team from initial requirements through final acceptance testing. We integrate our full product line of reflectors, horn antennas, waveguide components, and mechanical hardware into complete antenna sub-systems. Every assembly is designed, fabricated, tested, and shipped from our facility in the United States.

What We Build

Assembly Types & Integration Options

Reflector Antenna Systems

Complete prime focus or Cassegrain antenna systems with integrated feed horns, OMTs, polarizers, and waveguide-to-coax transitions. Includes mounting pedestals, alignment hardware, and optional radome protection. Configured for your frequency band, gain requirements, and installation environment.

Feed Network Assemblies

Integrated feed assemblies combining horn antennas with waveguide networks, power dividers, couplers, and filtering. Designed for multi-band, dual-polarization, or multi-beam configurations. Used in SATCOM ground terminals, radar systems, and antenna measurement ranges.

Waveguide-Integrated Antenna Modules

Horn antennas with pre-assembled waveguide runs, bends, twists, and transitions. Eliminates field alignment and reduces installation time. Available with standard or custom flange interfaces and mounting brackets for rack or platform integration.

Test & Measurement Antenna Packages

Calibrated antenna assemblies for antenna ranges, EMC testing, and RF characterization. Includes reference horns, calibration data, mounting fixtures, and interconnect hardware. Configured as complete measurement-ready systems with full traceability documentation.

Integration Capabilities

Full Antenna Portfolio

Build assemblies around any RF Essentials antenna: prime focus reflectors, Cassegrain systems, horn lens antennas, conical horns, and standard gain horns. Mix and match for multi-band or multi-function systems.

Waveguide Networks

Custom waveguide runs with precision bends, twists, transitions, and adapters. All joints are aligned and torqued to specification. Pressurization ports available for outdoor and high-altitude installations.

RF Component Integration

Integrate OMTs, polarizers, couplers, filters, LNA mounts, and HPA interfaces directly into the antenna assembly. Reduces system-level interconnects and simplifies field deployment.

Mechanical & Structural

Custom mounting pedestals, elevation-over-azimuth positioners, alignment fixtures, and structural brackets. Designed for your installation constraints including weight limits, wind loading, and vibration requirements.

Environmental Protection

Radomes, weather seals, corrosion-resistant coatings, and thermal management for outdoor and harsh-environment deployments. Designed for continuous operation in rain, humidity, temperature extremes, and salt fog.

Tested & Documented

Every assembly undergoes full RF acceptance testing on our calibrated antenna range. Gain, VSWR, radiation patterns, and cross-polarization data included. Extended test reports and compliance documentation available.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a custom antenna assembly?

A custom antenna assembly is a fully integrated antenna system built to your specific requirements. It combines reflectors, feed horns, waveguide networks, transitions, mounting hardware, and environmental protection into a single turnkey unit. RF Essentials engineers work directly with your team from requirements through final acceptance testing.

What types of systems can you build?

We build assemblies around any of our standard antenna types: prime focus reflectors, Cassegrain systems, horn lens antennas, conical horns, and standard gain horns. Assemblies can include integrated feed networks, OMTs, polarizers, waveguide runs, LNA or HPA mounting provisions, radomes, and custom mechanical structures.

What is the typical lead time?

Lead times depend on complexity. Simple feed-plus-waveguide assemblies typically ship in 4 to 6 weeks. Full reflector systems with custom feeds, integrated electronics, and environmental protection may require 8 to 16 weeks. Contact our engineering team with your requirements for a project-specific timeline.

Do you provide test data with every assembly?

Yes. Every custom antenna assembly ships with measured performance data including gain, VSWR, radiation patterns, and polarization characteristics. Testing is performed on our in-house calibrated antenna range. Extended test reports with E-plane, H-plane, and cross-polarization cuts are available on request.
