W-Band
— The frequency range from 75 to 110 GHz, used in advanced radar, imaging, and high-data-rate point-to-point links.
Waveguide
— A hollow metallic tube that guides electromagnetic waves by confining them within its structure, used at microwave and millimeter wave frequencies.
Wavelength (Lambda)
— The distance between successive identical points on a wave, inversely proportional to frequency: lambda = c/f.
Wilkinson Divider
— A three-port power divider that provides matched ports, equal power split, and isolation between output ports using quarter-wave transformers.
Window (Atmospheric Window)
— A frequency range where atmospheric absorption is low, allowing efficient free-space radio propagation for terrestrial and satellite links.
WR Designation
— The standard waveguide size numbering system where the number represents the broad wall dimension in hundredths of an inch.
